In Japan they have square watermelons.

They get square watermelons by growing them inside of square glass cases. That way they can fit easily into a refrigerator, and you can stack things on them.

Having sex can reduce a fever because of the sweat produced.

Sex is also a pain reliever, ten times more effective than Valium: immediately before orgasm, levels of the hormone oxytocin rise by five times, determining a huge release of endorphins. These chemicals calm pain, from a minor headache to arthritis or migraines, and with no secondary effects. Migraines also disappear because the pressure in the brain's blood vessels is lowered while we have sex. So now we see that actually, a woman's headache is rather a good reason for having sex, not against it.

Cracking your knuckles does not actually hurt your bones or cause arthritis. The sound you hear is just gas bubbles bursting.

Cracking your knuckles (or any of your joints) can have therapeutic benefits. When you crack one of your joints you are pulling the bones that are connected at the joint apart from each other. This process stimulates your tendons, relaxes your muscles, and loosens your joints. Chiropractors do this for spinal joints when your back is sore and stiff, but you can do this on your own for your knuckles, toes, knees, neck, etc.

Men have nipples because, as an embryo, everyone is a female until the Y chromosome kicks in.

After conception, the human embryo develops as a female. Only after 6-8 weeks does the Y chromosome kick in and the fetus begins developing male characteristics. By this point breast tissue, milk ducts and nipples have already formed. This happens in all mammals, the only exception being stallions, who do not posses nipples.

Tanning can give you cancer and kill you. Tans are just damaged skin cells.

You get a tan by exposing yourself to harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation. This is the case, whether you're tanning in the sun, or in a tanning bed. Exposure to UV radiation can lead to prematurely aged skin (wrinkles, brown spots, etc.) Worse still, you can get skin cancer.

Yawning is contagious - even thinking about yawning is enough. After reading this fact, there is a 50% chance you will yawn.

Research shows that 11-week-old fetuses yawn. Yawns become contagious to people between the first and second years of life. When one person in a group yawns, over half of the people in the group will yawn within 5 minutes, and the rest will at least be tempted to yawn. Even animals yawn when they see another animal yawn. The average duration of a yawn is about 6 seconds, and guys yawn for longer than girls.

You can overdose and die from coffee.

There is such a thing as a lethal dose of caffeine. Medical literature contains reports of people dying from ingesting large amounts of caffeine, often through unconventional means, such as injecting caffeine straight into the bloodstream or having a coffee enema (literally putting coffee in your butt!).

It takes ten grams of caffeine in one sitting to kill a person, which would literally take between 80 and 100 cups of coffee, which is pretty hard to do.



McDonald's SALADS are more fattening than their burgers.

You can see for yourself in their nutrition facts. A hamburger at McDonald's has 9 grams of fat. A cheeseburger has 12 grams of fat. The Premium Caesar salad with crispy chicken has 17 grams of fat. The Premium Southwest Salad with crispy chicken and the Premium Bacon Ranch Salad with crispy chicken both have 20 grams of fat.

On top of that, SALAD DRESSING adds EVEN MORE fat. If you want to add Creamy Southwest Dressing, it's 6 more grams of fat. The Ranch Dressing has 15 grams of fat. The Creamy Caesar Dressing has 18 grams of fat. So, if you get a salad with crispy chicken and salad dressing, you could be consuming 35 grams of fat - the fat equivalent of 4 hamburgers.

In 1518, there was a DANCING PLAGUE in Strasbourg, France. 400 people danced uncontrollably for A MONTH, dozens of lives were lost and NO ONE KNOWS WHY.

It all started when a woman named Frau Troffea decided to start dancing in the streets in July of 1518. What ensued was an inexplicable city-wide dancing craze, where hundreds took to street dancing. By the end of the month-long dance-off dozens had died from heart attacks, strokes, and exhaustion. Scientists to this day have no explanation for why this happened.

Blue M&M's might be able to treat spinal injuries, scientists say.

The researchers injected rats with spinal injuries with Brilliant Blue G. The compound improved recovery and reduced the lesions that came along with the injury. The way it worked is that the compound blocks another chemical that causes more cell damage during an injury, thus reducing the "secondary spinal cord damage" that the chemical causes. The result? The rats with spinal injuries that received treatment with Brilliant Blue G were able to walk again, while the control group rats that weren't treated were not.

The female praying mantis RIPS OFF THE MALE'S HEAD during sex!

Often, the male will try to initiate courtship in secret (technically rape, but in his defense, there's a good chance he's about to become someone's lunch). If detected, the female will kill him and eat him, often by ripping off his head mid-coitus. Upon being decapitated, the male mantis will reflexively tense up and start to deliver sperm more vigorously than before. Afterwords, in lieu of a cigarette, the female mantis will relax by eating whatever is left of her new ex-boyfriend.

After suffering a knife wound to the stomach while performing fellatio, a teenager in Lesotho became pregnant in 1988 despite being born without a vagina.

Doctors in Lesotho were puzzled when they discovered that a 15 year old patient going into labor did not have a vagina. The girl suffered from a rare birth defect called Mullerian agenesis. They found out that she conceived her child when a jealous ex stabbed her after performing fellatio on her new boyfriend. Sperm can last a long time, so be careful.

Facial hair is largely governed by production of testosterone, which is known to be secreted by the testicles in greater quantities during and in anticipation of intercourse. Scientists have also found that increased beard growth was associated with tension, mental fatigue, alcohol and increased shaving. Taurine, an ingredient in Red Bull, originally came from bulls. Hence, "Red BULL".

Taurine is an ingredient in most energy drinks. Scientists first discovered taurine in ox bile in 1827. The name "taurine" actually references "taurus", Latin for "bull" or "ox". Urban legends have suggested that the taurine in Red Bull comes from bull semen and bull urine. While it's true that taurine could be extracted from those sources, the taurine used in Red Bull and other energy drinks is synthetically produced.

One tablespoon of semen has approximately 20 calories. Semen also contains zinc and calcium which helps prevent tooth decay.

One typical ejaculation contains 150 mg of protein, 11 mg of carbohydrates, 6 mg fat, 3 mg cholesterol, 7% US RDA potassium and 3% US RDA copper and zinc. The protein content is roughly equivalent to that found in one egg white. Also, women physically exposed to semen are less likely to suffer from depression. The ingesting of it is called 'spermophagia'. Studies suggest that seminal plasma both prevents and fights cancer, particularly breast cancer.

Humans shrink and regain height daily, sometimes as much as 3/4 of an inch in one day. When we move throughout the day, the fluid disks in in our spinal column compress and we shrink. When we rest at night our backbones reabsorb the fluid and our height comes back.

Eastern Europeans have sex an average 150 times a year. The countries with the lowest sex frequencies are Sweden (102), Malaysia (100), and Singapore (96).

An average person will spend 1 1/2 years of their lifetime in the bathroom.

This is according to research done in the United Kingdom. In addition, women spend an average of 1 year, 7 months, and 15 days longer in the bathroom than men. However, men spend more time on the toilet than women do (an hour and 45 minutes every week, compared to an hour and 20 minutes a week for women).

Other weird facts? The average Brit spends 62 days in a lifetime drying themselves off. Brits also spend 18 minutes every week cleaning their teeth (while Scots spend half a minute less per week doing this).


Baby Koalas eat their mom's poop.

The undeveloped digestive systems of baby koalas are not able to process the vegetation that koalas normally eat. They need a bacteria present in their mother's feces in order to properly digest it. The scientific word for eating poop is "Coprophagia".


For centuries, girls in China had their feet wrapped and bound to be only 3 inches long. Having "bound feet" was a status symbol, and helped women marry into money.

Millions of Chinese women would undergo "foot-binding" so that their feet would look like "three-inch golden lotuses". This process would normally start at a young age, when girls' feet were still soft enough to warp into a small shape. The process was very painful; it took many years for bound feet to achieve the desired "lotus" shape, and it severely restricted the women's ability to walk for the rest of their lives.
